IUCN red list status: Vulnerable

The Koalas are cute and small creatures who hang around in eucalyptus (yoo-kuh-lip-tuh s) trees. When the mother gives birth to a koala joey (baby koala) they are placed in a cute, small pouch for six months. Sadly, the koala population is decreasing due to deforestation.

• Koala's are not actually bears.
• Koalas can get angry when being captured. They can growl, fight and bite.
• Koala twins are very rare

Stay away and don't get close so that they won't bite or growl at you.
